Just for the ‘kicks’
So many things we do in life cannot just seem to have any logic involved. Everything we do need not be intelligent but everything we do surely has a consequence. Without sounding too philosophical I would rather say ‘there is a reason why we do anything’. Is it really what we should have done or what would happen IF we hadn’t done it are questions which have all the reasons to haunt you.But there are also a few things which are worth all the foolishness that are involved with them. The small rush that makes you do these things and the kick you get out of doing these things is all worth the effort.
I know I sound the same old confused me when I talk in this equivocal tone. But these statements really make a lot of sense. The rush of my O+ blood surely is a cause for many unwanted and unexplainable situations I end up in. On a lighter note, we also do things which we know are dumb and a little out of the way. And why do we do them- Just for the kicks.
Otherwise what can explain watching a Balakrishna movie and trying to find logic in it.
Everyone knows what he is capable of and still we question. How ignorant of us. That reminds me of an argument I had with a 75 year old lady who happens to be my grandmother’s sister. We were talking about what can be questioned and what cannot. It surely makes for an interesting post and I will surely write about it in future.
Coming back to the reason which reminded me of writing this post. Last Saturday we had this interesting ‘outing’. A small group of us just had this weird thought of ‘visiting’ a graveyard. So after some usual deliberations we decided to go ahead with our plan. So we went to this spooky cemetry in thirumelgherry which is situated in this military area. A graveyard in a military area-a perfect setting for the ‘kicks’ I was talking about, even literally. But it was an awesome experience. this place was really really spooky with not another human to be seen in close vicinity. The entrance only had that ideal horror film setting with the creaking door and abandoned walls. Be it the fear of just being there or being spotted by the military personnel it just sent a few shivers down the spine.
The whole incident in retrospect may sound quite useless but it had a different feel to it all along. So let be it.:) I know I have wandered off from what I set out to write but that’s how it is. It just happens.:)
Humour….the ACD way!!
What is good humour??? This is not a question that should put to someone from ACD. Because for such simple questions also we have answers and answers and answers. That’s how complicated it is. If this doesn’t make sense what will. Lets see.
One fine summer morning one of ACD’s integral members Shashank comes up with a very long question and as is the case generally he messages it to everyone in the gang–
” If you had to name ‘our’ kind of humour ,what would you call it? Slapstick/dry/sarcastic? Or a combination of dry and sarcastic? Second thoughts, are we really humorous?:) I think it is dry considering most other people don’t get our jokes. Answer me. Cheers “
If you are thinking what kind of a lame question is that then you are still miles away from the ACD way!
Just see what our Menon mentions in the reply–
“Slapstick when it is within our group.Inhumanely sarcastic to others as we have got so used to it that we have no clue how to go about sarcasm subtly. Dry, repetitive and annoying because we get f**king conscious when we are around people.Barring few things I guess we are pretty cool. And whoever has come up with this tell them they are being impressionable and they don’t get ‘it’..oh my ego is fire.Hehe”
If you thought who is this person to have put in so much effort to get a reply going then you will be surprised to know I also used all the same adjectives in my reply. That’s how it is. If you are confused then you are normal, if you are not “welcome to ACD”
