What is the first things that come to my mind when I want to write about singapore??
Random food stalls everywhere, Fine, Rules, Little India and the big Mustafa,Iphones, shortskirts and long legs, can can, Clark Quay, the sound of the beeps to enter the MRTs/buses, the sound of the heels strolling past the tiptoeing floors, the “lah”s, people lost in the smartness of their gadgets and reallllllly long night life
Two months here and maybe it seems to you like I haven’t liked the place so much. But I do now. Sometimes seeing is not believing until its clearly shown. People make places special and there have been enough new/old friends who made me feel completely at home here. And yes this has been quite a home for two months. So what is in this place that makes it special? Does it have a culture?? I have asked this question to so many people and so many times that it took an Indian who is on the brink of taking an Singapore citizenship to explain me what Singapore means to her. Although she put it in a little cheezy way, I seem to agree with everything that she said.
Here goes:
Safe .. i like it that you can come home at 4am like its 11pm..
Independence.. infrastructure : the country spoils u with its infrastructure like the public transport.. at the same it gives u the independence to go where u want n be on ur own..
N..hmmm.. never dying hunger for change n innovation : i like how they keep comin up with new stuff to attract ppl though not all are mind blowing..:) its the efforts.. and how they pull it off without much confusion or inconvenience..
Governance : this i really like. surrounded by huge corrupt nations i think this country has managed to keep its corruption under control and the way it has been governed surely is remarkable.. yea its too strict too many rules.. but nonetheless, isnt the nation going ahead?so much foresight so much planning..
A blend of cultures : yes nothin is prominent but its not easy to maintain the basics of so many diff ethnic races.. n let each of them have their identity..
Proximity to india..:) this i really like.. for me in a lot of ways i wud say its home away from home.. its just pure selfishness but stayin here u get to forget the minuses of india.. and yet long to go back:) and best part is its just 3.5hrs..
Organized : this i dont have to say.. yes some feel its toooo organized and mechanical.. but i like it the way it is..
Romance.. haha.. there r lots of romantic places..:P lol.. ntn like some ice capped mountains or blue blue seas..but the freedom to romance..there is a certain air in the country that makes u long for a partner actually.. in the sense being alone here is not all tat fun at all.. once u hav a partner or even friends its done for:).. nice place to spend time ..gives u a lot of memorable relationships..:P actually, the sudden unexpected showers is sthg i find really romantic..after a bright bright sunny mornin suddenly the afternoon gets cloudy n rains pour.. its amazing to lie in bed n look out of the window..very romantic!:P
Efficiency : this also i like i like.. ok u can add in expensive here!:P and extremely fast too!:D sometimes its motivates sometimes it tires me out..

Two months in Singapore I have been interning in Procter and Gamble. The world leader in FMCG, it surely knows how to sell. And I surely learnt a thing or two about selling and a lot more. Shaving and formals are the only things I can complain about in this place.(Google spoilt me) though not a norm I was happy being the sincere intern and of course learning a lot
And yes I am back to wandering!

you were in Singapore? i keep going.. my brother lives there. i dislike how mechanical and organised the place is – find it very impersonal :/
but then i would find any place away from the home country impersonal i suppose
